FAQ
Will my dog actually use it?
Most dogs trust a new ramp inside 1–3 weeks — small dogs and dachshunds often pick it up in a day or two. Best practice: lure them up with a treat the first few times, use it every time they want to go up or down (consistency matters).
If it's still not the right fit after a fair attempt, you have 30 days to send it back for a full refund — we pay the return shipping.
What size dog is it for?
Any dog up to 132 lbs. We hear from owners of dachshunds, Frenchies, corgis, and basset hounds protecting against IVDD; senior Labs, Goldens, and Shepherds with stiff hips or arthritis; small dogs that can't reach the bed; and big dogs their owners shouldn't be lifting. The long, gentle slope is especially helpful for dogs with hip dysplasia or anyone recovering from TPLO/ACL surgery.
Will my cat use it?
Yes. The same heavy-duty carpet and gentle slope that work for dogs work for cats — especially senior cats with arthritis, declawed cats slipping on hard floors, post-surgery cats with no-jump orders, or larger breeds like Maine Coons and Ragdolls. Set the lowest height (16″) and most cats trust it within a few days.
What about IVDD prevention for dachshunds, Frenchies, corgis?
This is the most common reason we hear from new buyers. IVDD-prone breeds shouldn't be jumping off furniture — every landing compresses their already-fragile discs. A ramp removes the impact entirely. Vets routinely recommend ramps as a primary IVDD prevention strategy, alongside weight management and avoiding stairs. Its long, low incline is gentle on IVDD-prone dogs because it reduces the angle of descent.
Couch, bed, or SUV — which is it for?
All three. The 4 height settings (22″ / 20″ / 18.5″ / 16.14″) cover couches (typically 16–20″), beds (18–24″), and lower SUVs/crossovers.
For the car, it's a great fit for lower SUVs, crossovers, sedans and minivans. The long 39″ ramp creates a gentle, gradual incline. That shallower climb is easier on your dog’s joints and back, and far less intimidating than a steep angle. Whether your dog is older, IVDD-prone, recovering from surgery, or simply hesitant, it makes getting in and out noticeably easier.
Is it slippery?
No. The surface is heavy-duty carpet across the entire ramp, plus six removable wood grip strips for extra skid resistance where your dog or cat needs them most. Slip-tested for traction even with senior paw pads (which lose grip with age) and tentative dachshund or cat claws alike.
How heavy is it? Can I move it room to room?
About 12 lbs, with a side carrying handle. Light enough to move between rooms one-handed, sturdy enough that it doesn't shift under your dog. We chose real pinewood over foam or plastic because real wood feels solid under your pet's paws — and stays solid over years of use.
Does it require assembly?
None. The ramp folds open straight from the box — no tools, no hardware, nothing to assemble. Lift it out, unfold, lock the height setting, and you're done.
What's the wood made of?
Solid pinewood frame with a heavy-duty carpet surface and removable wood grip strips. Natural pine + grey — designed to look like furniture, not vet equipment.
How long does shipping take?
Free standard shipping from our warehouses. Typically arrives in 3–7 business days. You'll get tracking when it ships.
What sizes do you offer?
Two sizes: one size — a 39″ ramp that adjusts 16–22″ across 4 levels, fitting couches, beds, and lower SUVs. Its long, gradual incline is gentle on IVDD-prone breeds, stiff joints, and anxious dogs alike.
Returns?
30-day returns, plus a 1-year warranty. If it's not the right fit, email us within 30 days — we send a prepaid return label, cover return shipping, and refund you in full when the ramp arrives back, no restocking fee. Separately, the 1-year warranty covers any defect or breakage under normal use.
How do you compare to the $400–600 maple ramps I've seen?
Honest answer: artisan-built solid-maple ramps from small workshops (DoggoRamps, etc.) are beautifully made and priced accordingly. We sit well below them — solid pinewood instead of solid maple, comparable design and feature set, free shipping, and a 1-year comfort warranty they typically don't offer. Plus, we sell one adjustable ramp that fits couches, beds, and low SUVs — most premium brands sell separate models, so to cover what we cover you'd buy 2–3 of theirs ($700+). If you want maple specifically and don't mind the markup, those brands are excellent. If you want the same form factor at a fairer price, that's us.
Who is this ramp really for?
Any dog (or cat) whose body has started asking for help. That's IVDD-prone breeds whose vets warn about spine injuries. Senior dogs with stiff hips. Small dogs who can't reach the bed in the first place. Big dogs whose owners shouldn't be lifting them into the SUV. Post-surgical recovery, where vets prescribe no-jumping for 6–12 weeks. And the cats with arthritis or declawed paws who used to land in your lap and now stop short.
